Deportation and Civil Unions

Rodrigo Martinez is happy to have his deportation called off. The Department of Homeland Security has reportedly called it off and released him. However, he will have to check in with DHS once a month. Martinez considers this a good sign for civil unions as he had a marriage ceremony in DC with his partner of eight years, Edwin Echegoyen. As his tourist visa expired in 2004, the couple has been fighting to gain legal status.
