Man Seeking Asylum in U.S. Slain

In San Francisco, a man by the name of Lassaad Bokri, 38, was found stabbed to death in the pizzeria where he was employed.  Bokri sought asylum in the United States because he feared persecution in his native country, Tunisia.

According to reports, Bokro was granted the opportunity to stay in the U.S. while the immigration courts reviewed his case.  He was on his break this past Tuesday when witnesses say a drunk woman walked up to him, started harassing him and began questioning the length of his beard.

Tired of the harassment, Bokri asked the woman to leave the pizzeria.  Instead of listening to him, she pulled out a knife and stabbed him.  Shortly after the incident, Bokri was rushed to San Francisco General Hosipital, where he later died.

The woman who killed Bokri was identified by a cab driver who witnessed the incident as Maryam Achekzai, 25.  This past Wednesday, police charged her with murder.
