Immigration Bill Would Benefit High-Skilled Workers

Immigration bills are floating throughout the Senate at present as the new administration gets prepared to handle the immigration issues that are fast approaching. One of the bills that stands out this year is the high-skilled immigration bill that has been drafted and will be presented by Senator Jerry Moran. According to this politician, immigrants with advanced technical degrees should be permitted to enter the country and obtain a permanent residency because they can benefit society. His bill says that foreign-born engineers and men and women with master’s degrees or doctorates in science and math should be permitted to enter the country and shouldn’t need to fear deportation.

Moran created his Startup Act years ago, but he will now be unveiling his Startup Act 2.0 for the administration. He plans to talk about the bill this month in front of the Senate. It includes a provision which would create a new visa for students that are studying for a master’s or a Ph.D in engineering, science, or math in the United States. These students would have the ability to obtain a green card while studying as long as they stay dedicated to their university. The bill supports measures that would ease the taxes and the regulatory rules for these men and women. Because the bill makes it easier for these foreign students to remain in the United States, Senator Moran believes that it will help universities for obtain research and bring into the marketplace more quickly.

Many of the immigrants that this measure would affect are some of the smartest and best educated foreigners in the nation. Senator Moran argues that these people benefit other Americans with their innovation and creativity, and they are not an inconvenience to society. Unfortunately, the visa stipulation in the bill is calling attention and many politicians believe that Moran’s cause would be better accepted if he eliminated this part of the bill. Still, he says that that visa is one of the most important parts of the legislation and he doesn’t want to remove that aspect of the bill. He hopes that he will be able to lessen the burden for dozens of immigrants who need to further their studies in the United States.

Attorney Moran believes that his case may have been stinted because of the fact that there are so many different immigration issues being discussed in Congress at present. He says that if it wasn’t for the wider immigration debate going on he believes that his case would have been more successful. He hopes that Congress can rise above the gridlock and pass his measure this time around because he believes that it is necessary for a better America. Democrats and Republicans have supported a high skilled immigration debate, but bills keep getting stalled.

Moran has been arguing that many countries are changing their laws to make it easier for high-skilled immigrants to gain residency. New Zealand and Australia are welcoming highly-credentialed immigrants into their countries to enhance the business. Moran believes that inviting researchers to America will help to keep the country ahead of the rest. In Chile, the government is currently welcoming entrepreneurs to start companies in the country. This way, they believe that they will be able to stay ahead of the rest and may even make some valuable discoveries that will become international phenomena.

Senator Moran says that he wants to encourage entrepreneurship, research, and creativity in America, rather than stifle it.
